Your 5 Favourite 3DS Apps

Last week, I asked you to vote on your 5 favourite 3DS Apps here. I was really pleased with the result, over 50 votes! So here are your 5 favourite apps.


5th) Mii Maker

Yes, it's Mii Maker. The app that lets you create your own virtual character that you can use in games like AR Games and StreetPass Mii Plaza.

4th) Activity Log

Activity Log is the app that lets you track your step count and play time on other apps you use on the system. It also tells you the most played game of each day, week, month or year.

3rd) Face Raiders

Face Raiders is the addictive game on the 3DS that lets you take a picture of a face and use it in game. You have to shoot this face with yellow balls before they fly through your walls leaving massive holes in them!

2nd) eShop

The Nintendo eShop is where you can access downloadable content for your 3DS. You can download DSi Ware titles, Virtual Console titles and original 3DS titles. You can also review titles you've played for over an hour and view game cartridges that are out in the shops.

Joint 1st) StreetPass Mii Plaza/AR Games

StreetPass Mii Plaza is the hub of all your StreetPass Activities. You can see information about the people you've met and play games with them (Puzzle Swap and StreetPass Quest). Puzzle Swap is a fun little game where you swap pieces with other people to try and make a 3D photo from a game (Metroid: Other M, for example). StreetPass Quest is a game where your Mii has been taken prisoner and you must use the Miis you've encountered to battle your way through various rooms to rescue your Mii. In both games you can spend 2 Play Coins (received by walking) for a piece of the puzzle/to hire a hero.


AR Games is an app that uses the 6 ar cards to make things appear in 3D on your table. There are 6 minigames: Shooting, AR Shot, Star Pics, Mii Pics, Fishing and Graffiti. In Star Pics, you can make 6 different characters appear by placing their character card in front of the cameras. Then you can move them around and change their size/pose. This is the only game that uses the 5 character cards. In Mii Pics, you can do the same except you use Miis instead of characters. In Graffiti, you can draw anything and make it appear on your table in 3D. In Fishing, you fish for fish and eventually drop bombs on a dragon. In shooting, you aim at targets and eventually have to shoot down a dragon. In AR Shot, the ground is altered and you have to hit a ball into the hole and eventually at a dragon.
